The Constitution of the Republic values education as a fundamental right, treating it as essential to the exercise of citizenship. The Law on Basic Guidelines for National Education addresses the importance of including in basic education notions of rights and duties, respect for the common good and the democratic order, in addition to social interest and basic preparation for work and citizenship of the student in the high school. The aim of the Law in Schools project is to bring basic concepts of Law, the State and public institutions to primary and secondary school students so that they have a greater understanding of our legal system and the exercise of citizenship. Through a simplified approach, making them awaken to something linked to the daily lives of all members of society.
